On September 3, 2024, China Energy Engineering Corporation's Shanxi Institute's general contracting project, China's first grid-side flywheel energy storage frequency regulation power station—the Dinglun Energy 30 MW flywheel energy storage project—successfully grid-connected and generated electricity. The project consists of a 30 MW flywheel energy storage frequency regulation power station and its supporting facilities, which are composed of 12 sets of flywheel energy storage frequency regulation units. Each unit contains 10 high-speed magnetically levitated flywheels, related auxiliary, drive and control systems, and a step-up converter integrated prefabricated cabin. Flywheel energy storage technology has significant advantages such as fast continuous charging and discharging, precise power regulation, low lifecycle cost, no pollution, and reliable equipment safety.

 

On September 3, 2024, China Energy Engineering Group Shanxi Electric Power Survey and Design Institute (Shanxi院), which served as the general contractor, successfully connected the nation's first grid-side flywheel energy storage frequency regulation power station, the Dinglun Energy 30 MW Flywheel Energy Storage Project, to the grid for power generation. This project, consisting of a 30 MW flywheel energy storage frequency regulation power station and auxiliary supporting facilities, is composed of 12 sets of flywheel energy storage frequency regulation units. Each unit includes 10 high-speed magnetic levitation flywheels, related auxiliary, drive, and control systems, as well as an integrated boost converter prefabricated cabin. Flywheel energy storage technology boasts significant advantages such as rapid continuous charging and discharging, precise power regulation, low full-lifecycle costs, no pollution, and safe and reliable equipment.

This significant achievement marks a solid step forward for our country in the field of energy storage. In this landmark project, Shanxi Dewang Company provided strong support for the air cooling tower section of the project, relying on its professional technology and excellent service.
