Air cooling retrofit

Technical transformation for power plant air-cooled systems focusing on improving power generation efficiency, reducing back pressure, saving water and energy, and increasing efficiency and capacity.

Indirect air cooling

An indirect air-cooled system uses circulating water that enters the water side of a surface condenser to cool the turbine exhaust steam on the steam side via surface heat exchange. The heated circulating water is then pumped by a circulating water pump to the air-cooled tower, where it undergoes surface heat exchange with air via the air-cooled radiator. The circulating water is cooled by the air before returning to the condenser to cool the turbine exhaust steam, forming a sealed loop.

Compound air cooling

An evaporative condenser is a highly efficient and energy-saving heat exchange device that utilizes a water film sprayed onto the outer surface of the heat exchange tubes to evaporate (absorbed and discharged by forced convection air generated by the induced draft fan), absorbing the heat of the fluid flowing inside the tubes, allowing the steam inside the tubes to condense.

Utilizing the latent heat of evaporation of circulating water for heat exchange is a highly efficient and advanced heat exchange mechanism. Its heat exchange effect depends on the local wet-bulb temperature and is not affected by the ambient dry-bulb temperature. Due to the large latent heat of evaporation of water, a small amount of circulating water can meet the needs, resulting in high efficiency and low investment.

Direct air cooling

Direct air cooling systems condense steam turbine exhaust directly using air. Air and steam exchange heat. The process involves turbine exhaust passing through large exhaust pipes to an outdoor air condenser. Axial cooling fans force air to flow over the condenser's outer surface, condensing the exhaust steam into water. The condensate is then pumped back to the boiler. Direct air cooling systems require no cooling water or other intermediate media, offering advantages such as fewer equipment needs, simpler systems, smaller footprints, and flexible system adjustments.

New energy-saving antifreeze technology for air-cooled units

Air-cooled units have developed rapidly in water-scarce northern regions, but during their operation, winter antifreeze for the air-cooling system is a very important issue for the winter operation of air-cooled units.
